Nana and I strolled Old Town Alexandria today. I racked up 9000 steps, so not too shabby! (Also, did I mention my Nana turns 91 in January? So if 9000 steps is good for me, what’s it for her?)
Nana has an Old Town circuit. We visited the Torpedo Factory, which was actually a place where torpedoes were built and stored but is now an art collective (talk about beating swords into plows). We also enjoyed the waterfront and checked out some of the cobbled streets.
Of course, the most wonderful part of a visit is getting to spend time with my grandmother. We whiled away the evening looking at family photos. It was terrific. And now she’s fallen asleep in her chair while brushing her teeth. Time for bed for both of us.
